Came in for the first time today greeted by a friendly host asking who gave us 100% choice in the environment we'd like to dine in. The decor feels like you're up north in a nice cabin: great balance of Midwestern kitsch and warm, elevated dining. Pricing was average: mix between nice bar / restaurant and a steak house.
Our server Tristan was absolutely fantastic. He happily asked if we had been there before and gave a great lil run down of the place / what they're known for. He was prompt in taking our order, bringing our drinks, making sure we had exactly what we needed to have a wonderful experience. Great sense of humor too!
I had the Fish and Chips- perfectly battered, flaky fish with perfectly seasoned fries. My grandmother had the 1/2 stack of ribs and finished the whole plate! The hash browns had great flavor and nicely crisp too. My girlfriend had the fish tacos and she's already planning our trip back so she can get them again.
Would definitely recommend this place and I'll definitely be back again! -

Alone in Eau Claire for work for the week and driving around came across Grizzly's located near the mall. They had a little outdoor party going with a band playing on the lawn and an outdoor crawfish dinner special. I unfortunately was too late in the evening to enjoy much of the band or any of the crawfish.
I went in and sat at the bar. The place is nicely decorated with a feel of up north mixed with a little southwest. Odd, but that was my take.
The bartender was very polite & quick to serve, although not very engaging in side conversation. I guess I get that, being I ordered a soda versus milling at the bar for awhile with a cold one.
Had I ordered a burger I bet I would have been more satisfied & my review would have another star. I didn't order the burger, I went with the ribeye. The steak comes with a side salad, cheesy hashbrowns and a carrot/broccoli mix.
The preparation time was quick, incredibly quick. The bartender brought me my salad and within two minutes a waitress was bringing out my steak. The vegetables on the salad appeared crunchy and fresh while the crutons were a little on the stale side.
My steak had good flavor and was a good cut of meat. The cheesy hashbrowns were crispy on top, but could have been cooked a little more thoroughly throughout. I know I could have said something, just not my style unless there's a major issue. The cooked side veggies were what they were (does anyone really rate those?) My steak dinner came to about $27.
I was there about 8 pm which must have been near the end of the staff's night. Many of the staff were sitting around the bar area talking about evening/weekend plans. It was a little off putting, feeling as though I was taking a spot in the middle of someone else's group.
I wouldn't say it was a poor experience. I think if I would have got there for more of the outdoor festivities and was having a few cold ones I would have enjoyed it more. I heard who I think was an owner/manager talking to someone else about society dining habits changing and less people going out for bigger dinners. This returns to my initial sentiment that I bet this place would nail a burger spot on. Grizzly's finer dining options need a little polish. -

Hands down favorite place in Eau Claire. Great cocktails, fun events and just great handmade food every time! The tacos are great, steaks my favorite! The chicken salad is amazing and the dressings are the best!! Can't eat here often because I just don't want to diet the rest of my life but the hash brown side is worth not eating the day for!!

Just stopped in for lunch on a work trip. Love the wood cabin atmosphere and the wood fire rotisserie as you walk in!
They are know for their Wood-Fired rotisserie chicken (self proclaimed) so I tried it. It was amazing and very moist. I also noticed a couple of other plates I wanted to try but couldn't - like the brisket sandwich- it looked amazing as well. -

Great atmosphere for a bar/restaurant
Sat at a high top in the bar area
I ordered the steak tips in bourbon sauce and hubby ordered wings and a side bowl of chili. The waitress was friendly.
The steak tips came with peppers and onions as well. They were great but order them without the steak tips. The meat was so tough and dry even with sauce as to require water to swallow. The veggies came with half stone cold that required reheating. Hubby said wings and chili were acceptable bar food. Thought a 2 Star was gracious but waitress was sweet.
